Chairman of DAP Sabah cum Tanjung Papat assemblyman, Frankie Poon called on Sandakan Municipal Council (MPS) to take immediate action in rectifying various problems faced by Sandakan.
“The bushes and scrubs at the ledges of buildings are a nuisance to residents. The repeated excuses have always been due to breakdown of the MPS’ sole vehicle.
“Problem has been pending purchase of new vehicle. This has been for years. Why can’t MPS hire this kind of vehicle just for the purpose? The picture you see makes our buildings look very much like a jungle city living. Is this what our Council like our town or city to look like?
“From what I know MPS is one Council whose income surpasses many other councils in Sabah. What do they do with the excess income? Beautification of the town Padang and yet ignoring the very needs of the communities?,” he said in a statement Friday
