Audiences will walk, sit, stand, move, and interact with the performers as they are led through the Beaux Arts Oakland City Hall building and through the Frank H. Ogawa Plaza, Oakland s central community gathering place.

Celebrated on the last Monday in May (this year, May 31) Memorial Day arrives with outdoor services and presentations to honor American soldiers who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. To mark the occasion, Bay Area organizations plan to host wreath-laying ceremonies, cemetery-side memorial services and more events to attend in person or to view online.
Along with the solemnity of the federal holiday, the three-day weekend in late spring is also full of opportunities to relax and enjoy as summer approaches.

At least 7 arrests and 2 Oakland officers injured in May Day violence
OAKLAND, Calif. - Oakland Police arrested seven people Saturday night during May Day protests in which two officers were injured.
Police say a group of about 70 demonstrators began marching at 8:44 p.m. from Frank H. Ogawa Plaza downtown.
Soon afterward, individuals in the group began throwing bottles and cans at officers, police said. Two officers were injured in separate altercations, one near 2nd and Castro streets and the other in the intersection of 10th and Castro streets.
