statement that boeing press office released today in the sort of spirit of most corporate releases is a gesture in the right direction. they have a ton of work to do. everyone s mad at them. regulators, passengers, airlines, the family members of the deceased. they need agrezigressive steps. the stock market is up. they just have the gut feeling. you are a pilot and aviation journalist. you have studied this plane and what other people said about it. right. it became a franken plane. such a popular plane, pilots certified to fly on it. to keep on making different versions of a 737 over time seemed like a good business decision. there was some time a decade ago when boeing could have done what airbus did and said people like our planes, fly on them, make a new plane rather than continuing to move the wings and engines. now they may be forced to do
