Man appears in court accused of murdering Blantyre man Richard Marshall
The 33-year-old died following reports of a disturbance at a property in Camelon Crescent on Wednesday with police arresting a man in connection a short time later.

Detective Inspector Frank Travers, from the Major Investigations Team, urged anyone with any information to come forward. He said: Our thoughts are with Richard’s family at this very difficult time and we are providing them with support. “We continue to appeal for witnesses and information.” Anyone who hasn’t yet spoken to officers and has information is asked to call 101 and quote incident number 2145 of March 31, 2021. Alternatively, you can anonymously contact the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

The family of a murder victim have said they are devastated at their loss.
Richard Marshall, 33, was killed in a flat in Camelon Crescent, Blantyre, South Lanarkshire, on Wednesday.
A 20-year-old man has been charged in connection with the death and was due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Saturday.

A family has paid tribute to a much-loved son who was murdered in South Lanarkshire
Richard Marshall, 33, was killed at a flat in Blantyre on Wednesday.
His family said in a statement: We are devastated by the loss of Richard, who was a much-loved son, brother, uncle and good friend. He will be cherished in our hearts forever.
