It marks the 75th anniversary of the beginning of the cold war immediately after world war ii in 1945. You attended georgia tech. Greta van susteren graduated from emory university. Served in the coast guard. Came back to georgia, practiced law. Served in the Georgia House of representatives. You were elected to the United States senate in 1972 and served for 24 years until you left in 1996 including eight of those years as chair of the Senate Armed Services committee. Since retiring from the senate you cofounded with ted turner and know cochair the Nuclear Threat initiatives.
