Frank Settlemeyer, who for the past four years has been driving the Mitchell-Prineville stage for John W. Cornett, who held the contract, was the low bidder for that stage line for the coming four years, according to J.N. Williamson, postmaster of the local post office. Settlemeyer has already been notified by the postal department.

The Prineville Fire department opened a campaign this week to raise funds for a first aid car and ambulance to serve this community, issuing an appeal to the citizens of Prineville and vicinity for funds to purchase an ambulance and equip it for emergency calls. Letters are being sent out this week by the firemen, explaining the project and asking for support.The firemen hope to establish 24-hour ambulance and first aid car service for the entire community, including a wide area outside the city limits.
