For 5-year-old Elliana Jacobi, Tuesday was the day she’s been waiting her entire life for the day her biological aunt and uncle adopted her and legally became her parents.

David Andrew Jacobi, 80, of Columbia, left this earthly journey for his next on April 18, 2021.
David was born in Martinsburg, on Aug. 21, 1940 to Edward and Lena Jacobi. He was the eighth of 10 children. David graduated from St. Brendan’s High School in Mexico. He joined the Navy following high school. During his time in the Navy, he was a flight crewman and aviation electronics technician that was tasked with searching for Soviet submarines. After his service in the Navy, he earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Rutgers University in Newark, N.J. where he resided for 40-plus years. He spent his career in IT.
