It’s not too late to concede to Akufo-Addo – NPP tells Mahama LISTEN 2
The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has urged the National Democratic Congress (NDC) 2020 flagbearer, John Mahama, to finally conceded the election to President Akufo-Addo after the dismissal of his election petition.
The party expressed its disappointment with Mr. Mahama’s contentions with the Supreme Court judgement in a statement.
But it added that “it is not too late for John Mahama to call H.E. President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, whose emphatic 2020 election victory has been affirmed by the Supreme Court, to congratulate him.”
“It is on account of this that the NPP is calling on the former President, John Dramani Mahama, to do the needful in the collective interest of our nation,” the NPP stated.

The Cape Coast High Court has placed an interlocutory injunction on the swearing-in of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament-Elect for Assin North, James Gyakye Quayson.
In a ruling Wednesday, [January 6, 2020], the court has also placed an injunction on Mr Quayson from holding himself as the MP-Elect for Assin North in the Central Region.
The injunction will be in place until the final determination of a suit challenging his election on the basis that he was a citizen of Canada when he filed his nomination to contest as a Member of Parliament (MP) in Ghana.
All Members of Parliament-elect are expected to be sworn into office at dawn January, 7, 2021.
