I just wanna say that our staff and the team E m s have all done a great job updating us on statuses of the patients as they came in so that we could be prepared, uh, and ready with everything as they came into the doors. The ones that came into us had injuries ranging from fractures to, uh, life threatening head injuries. Unfortunately, one of the patients that were brought in, uh did pass away, but the others are stable and have been stable for transfer. Three of them have been transferred out to UCSD. Occupants in the SUV was 25. Obviously, that vehicle is not meant for that many people. It s unfortunate that the number of people were put into that vehicle because there s not enoug

Thirteen people killed in one of the deadliest border crashes on record were among 44 people who entered the U.S. through a hole cut into Southern California s border fence with Mexico, the Border Patrol said Wednesday. Gregory Bovino, the agency s El Centro sector chief, told The Associated Press that surveillance video showed a Ford Expedition and Chevrolet Suburban drive through the opening early Tuesday. It s believed they were part of a migrant smuggling operation.
The Suburban carried 19 people, and it caught fire after entering the U.S. All escaped the vehicle and were taken into custody by Border Patrol agents.
