Protesters had broken into the building just after midnight and barricaded the entrance and other parts of the building using chairs and desks, chains and locks. Officers cleared the barricade, entered the hall and then removed the protesters. Police also cleared encampments from the schools main lawn and arrested dozens of students. A group of republican lawmakers in sacramento is now condemning some of the protests on College Campuses here in california. What was a rolling gun battle to rolling gun battles ended in a crash involving a family trying to get to school. Now, this Ford Explorer ended up on its side after the black chevy camaro crashed into it at about 745 this morning. Neighbors tell me the camaro was involved in a series of rolling gun battles in which two sets of cars shot at or chased each other along cherokee avenue. Inside the Ford Explorer was a woman and her 13 year old daughter who were headed to Francophone Charter School just down the street. Neighbors say they heard as many as four dozen shots before or after the crash in a neighborhood not far from bishop odowd high school, the mother and daughter were not hit by gunfire. [ inaudible question ] laura, i can tell you we were out here. We were on the perimeter trying to keep some of our citizens from driving through the area. We heard multiple multiple rounds, multiple gunshot rounds fired from the suspect. Thats what was making it challenging to communicate with the media and the community.
