PARIS, May 8, 1945 (UP) - The bloodiest war in European history will come to its official end at 12:01 a.m. tomorrow, European time, with the formal end of hostilities on a continent desolated by more than five years of conflict.
REIMS, France, May 7, 1945 (Delayed) (UP) - Representatives of four Allied powers and vanquished Germany scrawled their names on a sheet of foolscap in a map-lined 30-by-30 foot room at 2:41 a.m. European time today and ended World War II in Europe.
The agreement, signed on May 7, 1945, in Reims, France was one of five copies of the historical document which brought an end to six years of fighting in Europe. It s on sale for $3.25million.
