NORRISTOWN â Montgomery County authorities crushed a gun trafficking network involving three Philadelphia men who allegedly used straw purchase schemes to purchase and resell more than three dozen firearms to others in a three-county area.
Tyrone V. Gresham, 24, of the 100 block of West Annsbury Street, was arraigned before District Court Judge Francis J. Lawrence on charges of corrupt organizations, illegal sale or transfer of firearms, dealing in proceeds of unlawful activities, criminal use of a communication facility and unsworn falsification to authorities in connection with alleged incidents that occurred between December 2019 and May 2021 in Montgomery, Bucks and Philadelphia counties.
Gresham was committed to the county jail in lieu of $1 million bail to await a July 21 preliminary hearing on the charges before District Court Judge William Maruszczak.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA Primary election results from around Montgomery County were finalized early Wednesday, as the last mail-in ballots and precincts were counted by officials.
Tuesday s elections, which focused chiefly on municipal level contests like school board and township council races, finalized the fields for the 2021 general election in November.

Mail-in ballots still played a notable role Tuesday, even with the pandemic greatly abated and the vaccination rate rapidly rising. Some 56,753 Montgomery County voters cast their ballots by mail, as 11 drop-boxes were set up across the county to facilitate easy return of votes.
