Arrest made after Southaven officer injured by man who fled to Arkansas in squad car Laura Testino and Lucas Finton, Memphis Commercial Appeal © Lucas Finton, The Commercial Appeal Multiple law enforcement officers were on the scene of a shooting in South Memphis Tuesday, May 25, 2021, near the intersection of W. Mallory Avenue and Riverport Road. A suspect led a Southaven officer on a chase to the area and then shot the officer before driving the squad car away. A Georgia man was arrested Tuesday evening, authorities say, after he shot a Southaven police officer in South Memphis, stole the officer s squad car, and fled to Arkansas.
