The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) yesterday suspended the rerun and bye-elections in certain constituencies in the country following the outbreak of violence and other glaring irregularities that marred the exercise.
The Labour Party (LP) has raised the alarm alleging that Enugu South Urban State Constituency bye-election has been rigged as result sheets for the election have been allegedly written before the election commenced. A Chieftain of the party, Barrister Lucky Chukwu who addressed journalists by 9am said that officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) failed to produce the result sheets. Chukwu alleged that the electoral commission has already written the results being conducted in eight polling units of the Constituency.
