Elle Fanning now part of Francis and The Godfather

LOS ANGELES: Filmmaker Barry Levinson s film about the making of the celebrated crime drama The Godfather has added actor Elle Fanning to the cast.
Titled Francis and The Godfather , the movie will also feature Oscar Isaac, Jake Gyllenhaal and Elisabeth Moss, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Isaac and Gyllenhaal will play The Godfather director Francis Ford Coppola and former Paramount studio head Robert Evans, respectively.

Good Morning, Vietnam, and he has tapped Moss to join the cast.
“I’ve wanted to work with her for a long time,” Levinson said in a statement. “I couldn’t be more excited about her joining the film. Every performance of Elisabeth’s is nothing short of exceptional.”

Francis and the Godfather will map Coppola’s struggle at the age of 31 to convince studios to make the film. He wanted to transpose the film to New York despite the original script by Mario Puzo being set in Kansas City.

Previously announced by ViacomCBS as one of their high profile originals in development for the Paramount+ platform, the upcoming new name for CBS All Access, The Offer tells the behind-the-scenes story about the making of The Godfather with Hammer having been attached to play the part of producer Al Ruddy and serve as the lead. The studio is now looking for a replacement. The 10-episode event series is written and executive produced by Oscar and Emmy-nominated writer Michael Tolkin.
