Beckenham’s recently reopened 59-year-old Wimpy has had a makeover, showing off the restaurant chain’s new look. Thought to be the longest-serving business in the town, Wimpy Beckenham has had pride of place on the High Street since 1962 and has many claims to fame – including visits from the late David Bowie, boxers Chris Eubanks and Nigel Benn, and actor Dennis Waterman, as well as Boris Johnson. Franchisee Daran Mehmet has invested thousands introducing Wimpy’s latest SHIFT design, which includes new booth-style seating, USB charging points, bright colours and artwork on the walls.
