Less than 24 hours after devastating flooding impacted parts of Leominster overnight on Monday, Gov. Maura Healey visited the central Massachusetts city to see the damage caused by floodwaters.
Gov. Maura Healey was due to meet with her gubernatorial counterparts in Manchester on Tuesday for a National Governors Association event, but instead was in Bristol and Worcester Counties to survey the “real devastation” caused by severe storm systems.
Gov. Maura Healey paid a visit to the city on Tuesday afternoon to survey damage from a rain cell that stalled over Leominster on Monday evening, dumping what officials estimate was upwards of 11 inches of rain in a matter of hours causing massive flooding in many areas of the city and a state of emergency declared.
