The Day - Subverting local election officials biggest Georgia law concern - News from southeastern Connecticut

Published April 06. 2021 4:26PM  I have been following the commentary on the latest changes to the voting laws in Georgia. I lived there for almost 20 years and experienced both the convenience of early voting and the transition to needing to show a picture ID in order to actually cast a ballot. I have been a bit disheartened to keep hearing about the restrictions on early voting, absentee voting, poll hours and the shutting down of polling locations, all inconvenient changes. The emphasis placed on the banning of Good Samaritans from distributing water and/or food to the folks waiting in onerous lines to exercise their right to vote is attention-getting, to say the least, but perhaps an overreaction to what is a downright mean and small portion of this new law.
