[laughter] bret: all right have. a good night. good evening. i m bret baier. breaking we are covering three developing stories with major legal implications for former president donald trump and for the president s son hunter biden. house republicans have referred hunter and jim biden the president s brother to the justice department for lying to congress. in delaware, hunter biden s former wife details his rampant drug abuse and a major development in the legal issues tonight affecting former president trump a georgia appeals court has halted the election interference case against him. the matter is now on hold. while that court reviews a lower court judge s ruling allowing the wonderful fulton county district attorney to remain on the case. big development happening within the hour. correspondent steve harrigan has details live tonight from atlanta. good evening, steve. steve: good evening, bret. this i
repeatedly publicly and behind the scenes about biden on those same days when they were negotiating. reporters had more to add. so we heard from administration officials that mccarthy did say that the president was sharp in meetings. our reporting also suggested that mccarthy was doing that toiblegly because he had to get along with president biden. biden is also on the outs with a swath of his base after unilaterally restricting access to the u.s. asylum system with the border overrun. i m disappointed that the president has, you know, sort of gone into the same frame as donald trump at a very time when we need to make a distinction between donald trump and joe biden. the white house says the differences are stark and will hold up in court. there are still lawful pathways to make asylum claims in this country in an orderly and humane way. it is night and day the difference between the policies of this administration and the last one. the white house is framing biden s b
know your former member of congress has been kicked down the road by both democrats and republicans for years. this is an opportunity for both democrats and republicans to work together and certainly for president biden to have a win on this, because you know what? infrastructure is one of the areas where if you have bipartisan agreement, and quite frankly, if you are saying, hey, you can t work in a bipartisan manner, you can t come to the table saying, were going to flash $600 billion, which is what republicans are proposing, and you can t say were going to look dominic overlook the electrical grid when we saw what happened in texas and flint and broadband, which is necessary in light of the pandemic and how many people have had to work and school from home. we don t know what s ahead of us. at the end of the day, everyone wins from this. infrastructure is a job creator, and that something both democrats and republicans in the house and senate want to take home to their constituents.
division on this is that it s mostly because of guns? i m not sure what data you re looking at, but i m sure most dated is out there as shown there s been a rise of crime over the course of the last year since the start of the pandemic, which actually predates president biden. as a solution she did add we need to short police they want more police accountability through the bill in his name. i m hopeful that sometime we will have an agreement on the george floyd legislation. as the one loved one say today was a moment of healing, especially for floyd s daughter. of seeing her smile, she still smiling. if everyone could come together because the family announced that they are starting a fund to give back the minneapolis community announcing they will give away $500,000 of their
