Second âcritical race theoryâ ban enters Ohio House

A second bill seeking to ban critical race theory in Ohio schools entered the Ohio legislature on Tuesday.
State Rep. Don Jones, R-Freeport, brought the bill to prohibit critical race theory â an academic concept focusing on the effects of race on all aspects of American society, particularly as systems were created that negatively impacted communities of color â along with âaction civicsâ from the stateâs K-12 curriculum.

she told me dozens of her relatives are still missing. my niece in freeport, she went to have the baby, that saturday before the storm. we haven t heard from her yet. who is going to be responsible for the lost souls? who? who is going to replace them? who? who is going to explain to us why we have no plans before? and why we still don t have any plans? there are still a lot of questions. so much devastation, and day by day, the people here are getting more and more frustrated. rob? the storm is bad enough and now the aftermath, it could get a lot worse. all right, ellison, thank you very much. and tens of thousands of people in the bahamas are still in urgent need of humanitarian aid, nearly a week after dorian decimated that island. you may not be wondering you may be wondering how you can help with this. bryan llenas joins us with more on that. a lot of people want to know it is hard not to feel helpless watching that
correspondent is in freeport. patrick, that wind has picked up just a bit since our last conversation about 45 minutes ago. there was no winds. and you can feel things getting going. we have been told it will be maybe an hour or so and then full on hurricane force winds by this evening. it s hitting about 80 miles. about 80 miles to the east of us right now. and it is expected to progress to freeport. it s actually a very bad thing. it s powerful. that gives us more time to
let s start with allison in the cnn weather center. we re about 25 minutes out from the next advisory but what do we know? what are we seeing with this storm? right. so the big focus is how conditions are quickly deteriorating over portions of the bahamas. winds are sustained at 150 miles per hour but when you zoom in here, look at how close the outer bands are getting into places like marsh harbor and nassau and pushing into fr freeport. one of the biggest concerns is going to be the storm surge. 15 to 20 feet for this area here in pink. elevation in many of the bahamian islands is not very high. rainfall is going to be a major factor. where you see the purple color, you re talking 10 to 20 inches of rain. the white color is anything above 20 inches. that could be 20, 22, 25, the models have a really hard time going much higher than that. just know that on that area just to the north and east of free port it could see 20 to 25
