The Philippines is planning to acquire submarines after the development of its anti-submarine capabilities, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. said Friday.
“I am very interested about this because the choice seems to be random and no longer purposeful with regard to the modernization of the AFP, which at the end of the day is what we are all here for,” Marcos said.
Two units of T-129 ATAK choppers from Turkey, which were acquired for the modernization of the military, arrived in the Philippines on Wednesday, according to the Philippine Air Force (PAF).
The Senate on Thursday rejected the bicameral conference committee report on the disagreeing provisions of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Modernization bill due to the provision allowing firefighters to carry firearms during fire emergency situations.
