The new Netflix comedy “Dad Stop Embarrassing Me!” wants you to know how in the now it is. Instagram mishaps, dating apps, TikTok, Yeezy sneakers: These signs of modern times are all recognizable trappings of 21st century life. But this new multi-camera Jamie Foxx vehicle also has old-fashioned roots. The live laugh track, cuing our response at every turn, belongs to a traditional sitcom. There’s nothing quietly ironic going on here, no dramedy instincts. The comedy is broad.
