More bad news for metro riders, the latest proposal and what it could mean for your commute. The news at 10 00 starts right now. We begin with the latest at ohio state university. Thanks for joining im shawn yancy im tony perkins. 11 people were injured when an 18yearold student plowed a small gray honda into a crowd. The man got out of the car attacked people with a butcher knife. At least two people stabbed. One had a fractured skull. A Campus Police officer arrived on the scene and shot and killed the suspect. Shortly after the attack began. Police identified the suspect as 18yearold Abdul Razak Ali artan. Hes a somali refugee. Granted legal permanent resident status and was studying management at ohio state. Back in august, the newspaper interviewed him. He told the lantern he is a he also said, quote, if people look at me, i dont know what theyre going to think. Whats going to happen . I dont blame them. On the ucla campus this afternoon. It is still not clear if they were students. It happened in a small office in an engineering building. Investigators say a gun was found alongside what appears to be a suicide note. Hundreds of Police Officers swarmed the campus after 911 calls reported that shots were fired. Tactical teams stormed into buildings and told students and staff to get out. We immediately put out a alert and as our campus alert notification system to advise all of those in our Campus Community of an incident that occurred that could be dangerous to them and we requested them to stay out of the area. Reporter more good news. No students or staff were hurt in this, and the campus was declared safe about two hours after the shooting.
