wrong. our panel is co-hosting a new show benson and harf. marie harf is a fox news analyst and contributor. guy benson political editor of town hall.com. you get a sample before the debut on monday. excited to have both of you. you heard the president a few moments ago addressing reporters in a couple different spots. what struck you? the fact he was asked about rudy giuliani and the media tour starting on hannity the other night. one of the things he said he will get his facts straight in the future tense. i think if what rudy is trying to do is get his arms around this thing and get everyone on the same page finally getting the facts straight first is probably the best course of action because it seems like maybe trump is not undercutting rudy but maybe setting up a walk-back of something. he is a great guy and knows it s a witch hunt and only been on the job a couple of days.
harf is a fox news analyst and former state department and cia spokesperson and guy benson, fox news contributor and political editor at townhall.com. congratulations, first of all. we are a little upset that i think it s going to conflict with our show in some markets, but that s all right so we won t be able to see you as much as we have in the past. we do wish you guys good luck. what do you think about the whole thing? let me start with you. i think chris stirewalt has a better read on west virginia than i ever possibly could but i can understand given the popularity of donald trump in that state why a lot of republican voters would say here s a nonpolitician watching his other two politicians squabbling. he cracked some joke, doesn t apologize for anything and he s much more understated in his delivery than donald trump, but there s some affinity there. in terms of his confidence that he can get past some of these issues in the general election with the mansion machine and the d
mike schmidt, you ve reported on the president s difficulty in hiring and identifying lawyers willing to represent him in the mueller probe. i think he s down to basically one attorney, jay sekulow, representing him. how do you think today s developments impede or impact that search? well, the question is is there someone really around the president, providing him with legal advice that he s going to listen to and that will be actually helpful to him? i don t know if sekulow is that person. sekulow has not known the president for that long. he doesn t have that deep of a relationship with him. i m not sure anyone can control the president, but i m not sure certainly that sekulow is that person. is someone like john kelly around the president at all, weighing in on any of this, or is the president simply off talking to people on the phone that are reinforcing his views like jeanine pirro, the former prosecutor from west virginia that is a fox news analyst that he has relied on incre
would be the new national security advisor and i looked up and literally one of the screen to set fox news analyst tapped to be the national security advisor. this man was an ambassador to the u.n. he was an undersecretary at the state department. do you think it is a knee-jerk reaction to go after these nominees? no doubt about it, shannon. i say tell max that same lower third as you. it was a laughable how they underplayed, downplayed mr. bolton s experience. same here. they are calling him a physician, neglecting to mention that he has been widely praised by the obama administration, senior advisor dan pfeiffer saying he s a phenomenal doctor. the former deputy chief of staff for obama saying he s a saint, a patriot, no one better than him. nevertheless, you have the media apoplectic with this reaction. it s predictable. it s what they do to anything that has the name trump attached to it. shannon: fizzes very low level on the apoplectic scale. if we were at armageddon, the
