as hundreds came out to celebrate the amazing journey of dr. dorothy height, an early feminist and civil rights pioneer. fighting to make sure that women walk shoulder to shoulder with men. she not only fought for blacks, she fought for women. she fought for everybody. she was a feminist before there was a woman s movement. she was for integration before it was the primary goal of the civil rights movement. and now she doesn t want nuns to be the only people with heaven with something on their head. reporter: throughout the audience, there were lots of hats attribute hats, a tribute to hear trademark, style and elegance. she was one long hallelujah. now, i ve never to my memory given a speech in a hat before. but [ applause ] but i thought if there were ever an occasion to do so, this was it. peter, you can open the gate now. i hope you all got a good hat store up there in heaven. reporter: stevie wonder provided a touching musical trib bout as tribute as
