spending could be up for cuts. that is not something we have heard from republican leadership before. shep? shepard: shannon bream on capitol hill. thanks a lot. the next speaker of the houses he will do his part to trim the deficit by suggesting lawmakers cut their own spending. friends say john boehner is even taking a no frills approach to his own swearing. in let s get that angle and team fox coverage from james rosen live from washington. let s start with the proposed spending cuts. this is one of the first measures that will be introduced for a vote by the g.o.p. majority in the house. that vote will take place on thursday. the measure cuts congressional spend buying 5%. that will include the staff and expenses for the leadership and so on. in his first statement of the new year, incoming speaker boehner says sacrifices are required throughout the federal government and we re starting with ourselves. incoming majority leader cantor went farther saying quote this self-imposed
