I really enjoyed this fight when I first watched it, and it stuck with me throughout the year. After some more digging through 2019’s schedule, I’ve come to determine that no matter how deep your list is, this fight should be on it. Not by any means a savage affair, in contrast this contest demonstrates an excellent display of skills. There’s a uniqueness in the way this duel is fought, that made me want to give it extra attention.
The Fighters:
They go over the backstory for these two guys pretty well repeatedly throughout the opening rounds, so I’m not gonna harp on it. Both are alphabet belt holders in a lawless division, and these are the kinds unification fights that bolster careers. That tension shadows over the meeting.
