The national register added Macon County High School in Notasulga, the Mobile Seamen’s Club Building, Firehouse No. 12 (Ashland Place Fire Station) in Mobile and the South Central Bell Building in Birmingham. Alabama has more than 1,250 places on the register, according to the commission. “Through the advocacy of citizens and the Alabama Historical Commission, we hope these cultural resources and their legacies remain for generations to come,” said State Historic Preservation Officer Lisa D.
