facebook seems to be parsing their words and continue to talk about their policies. while cambridge analytica may have used the intertel that the got for evil, the practices are the same as facebook uses. they profile us, save our stuff and sell it. some press reports said it was a data breach. facebook got very angry with that because it is not a breach. right? nobody stole any data. actually what happened is a guy walked in the door, used facebook as it was intended, gathered a ton of data and broke his agreement and sold a brunch of it to analytica. it wasn t a breach. it was facebook used as it was set up to be. a lot of people say there might actually be real violations, election law violations and certainly facebook consent dedrviolations. i think facebook is likely going to get regulated. i don t think a consent decree is actually a live issue.
