Latest update on the number of coronavirus cases recorded in Warrington JUST over 700 cases of coronavirus were recorded in Warrington in the space of a week, according to the latest Public Health England statistics. In the seven days leading up to January 30, the most recent period for which data is available, a total of 701 positive Covid-19 tests were returned in the town. This is a rate of 333.8 for every 100,000 residents, the 48th highest level in the country. By comparison, in the week leading up to January 23 there were 877 transmissions – or 417.6 per 100,000. Of the 315 areas in England, five – two per cent – saw a rise in positive tests while 310, 98 per cent, recorded a fall.
Latest Public Health England data on the rate of new Covid cases in Warrington THE rate of new coronavirus cases in Warrington continues to fall, according to the latest figures from Public Health England. In the seven days leading up to January 29, the most recent period for which data is available, 713 positive Covid-19 tests were returned in the town. This is a rate of 339.5 cases for every 100,000 residents, the 51st highest in the country. By comparison, there were 941 infections in the week before January 22 – or 448.1 per 100,000. Of the 315 areas in England, five – or two per cent – saw a rise in cases while 310, 98 per cent, recorded a fall.
Warrington Hospital TWO more coronavirus patients have died at Warrington Hospital. Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust’s Covid-19 death toll now stands at 323 as of this afternoon, Wednesday. At present, the hospital has 144 inpatients being treated for the virus – 18 of which are in intensive care. Since the start of the pandemic, 1,126 people who had been treated at the Lovely Lane site after testing positive have been discharged. The trust has so far carried out 50,032 coronavirus tests, of which 3,599 were positive.
