Afterwards programs on our website, booktv. Org. We have Barbara Pearce book a new book forthcoming calls sisters first why that title . [laughter] why that title . Well because the above all we are sisters cursed and it was a play on obviously being first daughters but we have been so lucky in our life to have it which meant that we have a partner in everything that we were doing so whether it was kind of the ordinary experience growing up in texas everything was more fun. Because there was someone with us to mac it more magical and then, of course, as being first daughter we have somebody else that was also going to the same experiences with our parents that understood what life was like and so so i guess above everything we feel like were sisters first and then were daughters and, you know, question all play roles in if life. Book tv recently visited l to ask members of congress what they are reading this summer. I just finished reading dreadnought by Robert Massey about leading up to world war i and i would recommend it to anybody. Theres a lot of great parallels to what happened leading up to world war i with what we are facing right now. Admiral christmas of germany was the one who convinced bismarck to get into the navy business. They had a small navy until then and they use navy build up after bismarck and what that did was change the game and especially the pacific and there was something that came down shortly before world war i was germany pressured the uk and took the Solomon Islands away from them. Look like a small point at the time all of a sudden for the first time youve got germany with a base in the South Pacific and a large navy. We could be seeing the earth of that with the south china sea. Another book is american lion john meacham. I thought john meacham the other day and hes fantastic. H
