Report: Chinese-Made Vaccines Not Blocking Coronavirus While Causing Fever, Diarrhea

Epoch Timesclaimed in an article Thursday to have obtained Chinese Communist Party documents detailing a wide array of negative outcomes in people who had received Chinese-made coronavirus vaccines, including diarrhea, rashes, shortness of breath, and coronavirus infection.
Beijing is currently struggling to convince its domestic population to participate in its nationwide vaccination drive, achieving significantly lower vaccination rates than many Western states. Adding to the lack of urgency on the public’s part to receive doses of the vaccines available to them – all of them made in China – is the fact that the head of China’s Center for Disease Control (CDC) admitted this month that Chinese-made vaccines “don’t have very high protection rates.” The official, Gao Fu, called coverage of his statement a “complete misunderstanding.”

The Chinese drug company Fosun Pharma filed for approval to distribute the Chinese coronavirus vaccine developed by American company Pfizer and European partners BioNTech in China, state media noted on Sunday, a sign that Beijing increasingly distrusts its homemade products.
Fosun is a formal partner with Pfizer and BioNTech and invested in the initial stages of developing a coronavirus vaccine with the two. Fosun and Pfizer initially tested rival versions of the trio’s products, leading to studies that found the Pfizer product to be superior. The version of the vaccine currently approved in the United States and used around the world is the Pfizer version of the test product, believed to be 95 percent effective in preventing coronavirus infections.

The COVID-19 mRNA vaccine developed by BioNTech was approved for emergency use in China s Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on Monday.
According to the Hong Kong regional government s website, the Hong Kong Food and Health Bureau approved emergency use authorization for the vaccine, BNT162b2, as a local experts committee suggested the authorization is necessary considering the current threat to Hong Kong society brought by the coronavirus.
