CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Foster County residents will see a slight change in vaccine distribution as COVID-19 vaccination efforts continue.
Shane Wendel with Central Pharmacy says as the demand for the vaccine slowly declines, area health groups have made changes to their distribution plans. Moving forward, the Johnson & Johnson vaccine will only be offered Central Pharmacy and Carrington Drug.
Carrington Superintendent Kris Kuehn reports that board president Joel Lemer provided the update to the board.
Kuehn says they’re continuing to come up with samples and form a working document that will fit the plan for Carrington Schools. With that plan, the board also explored some known issues within the district that would need to be addressed.
Other projects needing to be addressed includes the practice football field, brick replacement on the front of the building, and air handler in the Elementary School. Kuehn says they’ll be seeking some consultation to find improvements in that area. He says Stadium 76 will also need to be addressed sometime in the future.
It’s also shown there are less reactive side effects for those who have had COVID-19 prior to being vaccinated. Residents are encouraged to take whatever vaccine is available to them.
Hilbert says 28.8% of Foster County residents have received their first vaccination of either Pfizer or Moderna and 16.2% have received their second dose.
Currently, area partners are focused on providing vaccinations to previous priority groups and will soon move to 18 or older with two or more chronic health conditions.
