And peaceful africa that was going to rekindle unity and selfreliance among the african nations. And i think all of us are well aware, you cannot accomplish that kind of vision without the full inclusion and participation of women. And so, quite appropriately, the African Union declared 2015 as the year of womens empowerment and development. Which is obviously the right way to kickoff the agenda 2063. And it is a time in which the African Union is calling on all africans to seize the opportunity to focus on Practical Solutions and Measurable Results for women on the continent. So in this spirit, were just delighted to host todays Panel Featuring our ambassadors from rwanda who will highlight womens roles in peace building and development along with our friends from women well, i guess youll do your own introduction. So i wont do that now. But we have an incredible panel who will really focus on all the ways that women are critical agents of change. And understanding that the agenda 206

Going to be in a combat role in iraq. They are there on a temporary getting the population off the mountain. This would be the effort to get them to a safe space. There are a range of ways for doing that. We have made decisions about how to carry out that mission because we want to get the readout from this Assessment Team first. [inaudible] i think it will be quickly, in that are of days. We dont think it is sustainable to have permanent airdrops to the population on the mountain. Some have been able to escape, but again, we want to get options in place to move them to a safer place. There are a range of ways for doing that. Again, we will be cooperating with Kurdish Forces who are also cooperating in the region, other International Partners. Our goal here is to work with iraqis and with International Partners so that these people can get off that mountain to a safer place. Again, we do not believe that that involves u. S. Electronically, then it is sent to another system. Weve got in the department the army, the navy, the air force. So weve got inherent inefficiencies in some of that. Were to the point of being able to transmit an entire case file with one key stroke, it is going to be a big deal for us. Those are the kinds of things were looking at efficiency wise. We have some of the same efforts going on in our criminal investigative data or criminal investigative Case Management system, as well as an audit. So i think there are many opportunities to be more efficient through the expanded use of technology. And most of that ill find is inner operability, even within the department of defense. For us to be able to rapidly Exchange Data with another office is, i think, throughout the government is a key challenge and weve got that just within the department of defense, just within the ig discipline within the department we see it. So you can imagine how rampant it is throughout government. [ inaudible
