A few months ago, we started a new series called Forum Fridays on our Facebook community group. We invited Ange and Wes of @foongfamilyflat to answer any questions the community may have. The couple had tried balloting for an HDB BTO flat. But after two failed attempts, they decided to go for a resale HDB flat instead, and eventually bought.

The ongoing Jerusalem International Book Forum’s series of digital sessions featured a particularly strong panel on Tuesday (May 4), with high-level observations and interpretations of the book publishing industry during the global pandemic in the last 15 months.

Raising Spirits
While acknowledging that many markets and players in world publishing have not had as prosperous a ride as others, the second day of the Jerusalem International Book Forum’s series of four sessions in May was decidedly upbeat.

Julian Barnes: ‘Here I Am in My Study’
In its first of four programs this morning (May 3), the Jerusalem International Book Forum and the City of Jerusalem announced that the English author Julian Barnes is the new recipient of the US$10,000 Jerusalem Prize.
Publishing Perspectives readers know, the forum is the contemporary restructured format of the former Jerusalem International Book Fair, and now stands as an industry-facing discussion arena, a think tank meant to be staged every other year.
