Highway Patrol is asking for the public s help to identify and locate a driver who may have witnessed a fatal collision in Lexington County. The accident happened around 5:50 p.m. on Friday, July 2 on Forts Pond Road near Chaney Road in Lexington County. Troopers say a silver Toyota Sequoia was traveling east on Forts Pond Road (away from Pelion) when it traveled off the road and overturned, resulting in the death of a 10-year-old girl.

(WIS) - A crash near Pelion on Friday evening left one person dead and several others in the hospital, the South Carolina Highway Patrol confirmed. It happened around 5:30 p.m. on Forts Pond Road near Chaney Road. Troopers said the driver of a SUV was going east on Forts Pond when the car went off the road, the driver overcorrected and the SUV flipped. One of the passengers in the vehicle was killed, officials said.
