The Hunter’s Cloak is one of the new craftable items that’s been added to the game in Chapter 2 Season 6. With the new update’s addition of hostile animals to the island, it only makes sense that Epic Games would add something players could make to throw them off.
According to the in-game text, the Hunter’s Cloak “throws creatures off the scent.” The two animals that will attack you on the island are wolves and boars (wolves attack on sight, boars attack if threatened). Wearing and using the Hunter’s Cloak after crafting it will ward off any hostile animals in your area.
