The vehicles are being recalled because an electrical circuit could cause a fire in the engine compartment, Reuters reported. The news service noted that Kia advised owners to park outside and away from structures until the recall repair is finished. No fires, crashes or injuries have been reported due to the issue. ADVERTISEMENT According to The Associated Press, the recalled models include 2017 through 2021 Sportage SUVs and 2017 through 2019 Cadenza sedans. Owners will be notified starting April 30, the news service added. The recall is the latest that Kia has implemented over a risk of engine fires. The Korean automaker recalled roughly 295,000 vehicles in early December because an engine compartment fire could occur while driving.
