To talk to us because we are told it was a police event. You know what . Memorial day traffic we have seen in recent years has picked up. Thursday. Not necessarily friday. That was a tough start this morning. When that distraught man took a seat on the bridge. The episode started when the Police Spotted the pickup parked midspan of the bay bridge and then they found the man himself on a gritterer under the bridge. You can see him swinging his legs. News chopper 7 is there as a technical firefighter from the jones station firehouse goes over the edge himself. He shakes hand with the man and begins a conversation. These people are walking on the bridge. Im okay with sitting here as long as he gets down safely. We were jamming out, dancing in the middle of the happy ending as the firefighter eventually coaxing the man into a harness. Then he and the other firefighters pull him to safety. Nick and his family were among them. It was crazy. I cant believe it took out so much of the complex, ridiculous. Reporter but routine because of the way the complex was built according to the fire chief. Its the type of construction it was built with and lack of firewalls between the units. No lives were lost but unfortunately quite a of those displaced are elderly. The residents are hoping to salvage memories in the charred mess, debris strewn inside and out. Almost all these women are, unfortunately, widowed over here. Their lives are in those houses. Reporter and we are back live now looking at this fire damage. This is the second time this moving fire where people were worried that the fire would jump from one home to another.
