State offers two enrollment-based options for a potential new Amherst elementary school
Updated Jan 06, 2021;
AMHERST – Massachusetts School Building Authority recently informed the school board they have two enrollment-based options to consider, should the board and the town wish to become eligible for state funding to potentially build a new elementary school.
One School Building Authority option the district will consider is a 320-pupil, kindergarten through grade 6 building that would replace Fort River Elementary School.
The other is a 575-pupil kindergarten through grade 5 building that would combine Fort River and Wildwood Elementary School, meaning sixth graders could become part of the middle school, that is currently for grades 7 and 8.
