Amid the sudden resignation and retirement for Chief Pat Smith, some residents and officials expressed concern over recent township turnover at a meeting Wednesday night.
A single vehicle crash in St. Clair County's Clyde Township Tuesday evening has claimed the life of one. According to deputies from the St. Clair County Sheriff's Office, the crash occurred around 6:30pm on North River Road near Timberline Drive. A 23 year old Kimball Township woman had struck a guardrail on the west side of the road and rolled over. She was found unresponsive and taken to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead. Investigators say alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash. Sheriff's deputies were assisted at the scene by Michigan State Police and Fort Gratiot Fire and Rescue crews.
