Deputies said at about 10 a.m. Friday, the Wharton County Sheriff s Office received a call about human remains found near County Road 225 near Hungerford, a secluded area in the northeastern part of the county. The sheriff’s office also released a photograph of the character, “Stitch” from Disney’s Lilo and Stitch. The victim was discovered wearing a T-shirt with the word “OHANA” in blue with a photograph of the character “Stitch” directly below the word.

El Campo police say 26-year-old babysitter Angel Nicole Castro of 703 Way inflicted egregious harm upon 19-month-old Roselynn Coates on Jan. 19 and then waited 45 minutes to call for help. “She said she didn’t think it was that bad at the time,” El Campo police Lt. Russell Urban said. When El Campo EMS was summoned to the scene at 11:06 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, little Roselynn was not conscious, but was breathing, according to the ECPD. “She had an obvious head injury, but that was not the cause of death,” Urban said, adding the child suffered unspecified fatal internal injuries.

Police responded to a 911 call from a home on Way Street in El Campo on January 19. Angel Castro, 26, told the police that when she was babysitting the child, it fell and died, El Campo Police told FOX 26. But police said that after reviewing the autopsy, the baby s death did not appear to be an accident. Law enforcement said that the child, Roselyn Coates, died within hours of the 911 call. Castro was arrested without incident and was meant to be transferred to Wharton County Jail on a $500,000 bond. However, she paid the bond over the weekend, police said.
