Former Panama City residents, Air Force vets, use Ocala farm in cancer fight

PANAMA CITY Once stationed at Tyndall Air Force Base, the Cottongims became part of the Panama City community for 30 years before relocating to Ocala after Hurricane Michael s hit in October 2018. Their farm in Golden Hills has continued to provide solace after Ann and T.J. Cottongim s daughter, Anissa Cottongim, was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma in December 2019. She has a cottage on the farm. It s a blessing. Things happen for a reason. It was not our intention to move to Ocala for another year. We sold our house, moved on base quarters, so it was convenient for him (T.J.) to go to work, then the hurricane hit. Anissa has had a chance to have the farm she always wanted, said Ann, who added Anissa can see the mares from the back patio of her cottage.  During the day, she can watch the horses.
