Seventy women.
And not women, really. Girls.
That’s how many female athletes the lecher Larry Nassar sexually abused between the time the FBI first learned of the allegations and when he was arrested by Michigan officials on separate information.
Nassar, the former doctor for the USA Gymnastics team, who will spend the rest of his wretched life rotting in prison for abusing hundreds of female patients, including Olympian Simone Biles, was free to defile 70 female athletes while the FBI fell asleep at the wheel.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has faced scrutiny after failing to promptly address sexual abuse allegations from over 200 female gymnasts. On Wednesday, a new report released from the Department of Justice suggested the FBI made serious errors in their investigation into former U.S. Gymnastics National Team doctor Larry Nassar.

FBI Mishandled Case of Convicted Sex Offender Larry Nassar: Justice Department Watchdog
The FBI mishandled allegations of sexual abuse against the now-convicted sex offender, former USA Gymnastics national team doctor Larry Nassar, a Justice Department watchdog concluded.
Nassar, the main doctor for Olympic gymnasts, was sentenced to 60 years in prison in 2017 on federal charges of possessing child sex abuse material. He was named in hundreds of lawsuits filed by female athletes who said that Nassar sexually abused them when he worked for Michigan State and Indiana-based USA Gymnastics. In 2018, Nassar was sentenced to up to 175 years and up to 125 years in two separate Michigan courts on sexual abuse charges in Michigan.

(WXYZ) â Former Michigan State University basketball star Keith Appling is now facing charges in connection with a second shooting.
Appling is already facing first-degree murder charges in connection with the deadly shooting of a 66-year-old man in Detroit on May 22. Appling has been charged with murder and one count of felon in possession of a firearm, and two counts of felony firearm in that case.
He has now been charged with 1 count of intent to do bodily harm and 1 county of Felony firearm in connection with a May 2 shooting at the home of his girlfriend in Jackson County.
