Coach Benjamin Ayimba will be remembered for bringing the trophy home after Kenya thrashed Fiji
Former Kenya Sevens head coach Benjamin Ayimba is dead.
According to the Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) Family spokesman Oscar Osir confirmed Ayimba’s death.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Benjamin on Friday 21 May 2021. Benjamin succumbed to the multiple complications he was being treated for over the past couple of months,” Osir told KRU as seen on their website.

Ayimba (44) had been battling Cerebral Malaria, which has kept him away from the public eye since the start of 2021.
Making the application before Milimani magistrate Zeinab Abdul Monday, the prosecutor said the life of the witness was in danger. She said Olaba committed the offence while out on bail.
The prosecutor, Evelyne Onunga, said the police had concluded Investigations and are ready to charge him with conspiracy to murder and conspiracy to defeat justice.
The prosecutor says Olaba cant enjoy his liberty when the prosecution key witness’ life is at risk.
In response, Mr Olaba said the conspiracy to murder charges are just mere allegations. He said he has always been attending court without fail and intends to do until the conclusion of the trial.

Former Kenya Sevens rugby player Alex Olaba has been detained for seven days to allow detectives time to complete probe into accusation of attempted murder of rape witness.
Milimani Senior Resident Magistrate Bernard Ochoi on Friday, April 23 allowed the DCI detectives’ request to hold the suspect for a week, saying the accusations levelled against Olaba were weighty and deserved thorough investigations before a formal suit is filed.
The Investigating Officer, George Otieno, told the court that Olaba made several direct and indirect attempts at contacting witnesses.
