Former Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard is leaving Indiana and moving to South Carolina, according to a spokesperson.
Ballard and his wife, Winnie, will leave their home in Carmel for warmer weather in Myrtle Beach.
In a statement on the planned move, Robert Vane, the former mayor s spokesperson, noted Ballard s 23 years of service in the Marine Corps and eight years leading the city as mayor. Moving to South Carolina so he can indulge his love of golf and warm weather seems like a retirement well earned, Vane said.
