The former Gauteng Health MEC was back on the stand for day two of her testimony at the inquest- where she initially spent the day detailing circumstances that led to the termination of the Esidimeni contract.
Psychiatric specialists and civil society organisations were among the first to caution Qedani Mahlangu about the perceived risks of prematurely terminating the contract.
In her testimony at the Life Esidimeni inquest, Qedani Mahlangu said both Makhura and then-Gauteng finance MEC Barbara Creecy were well aware of the decision.
Mahlangu s testimony before the inquest was delayed on Tuesday when her lawyers asked the court for a three-week postponement after the State Attorney failed to pay them their legal fees.
