WINSTON SALEM, N.C. - Former Florida State track and field athletes Trentavis Friday and Kamorean Hayes were inducted into the North Carolina High School Track and Field Hall of Fame last Saturday in Winston Salem, N.C. Friday was a star prior to his time at FSU winning gold medals at the 2014 World Junior Championships in the 200m dash and the 4x100m relay in 2014. Friday was named the Gatorade National Track and Field Athlete of the Year in 2014 and was also the Track and Field News High School Athlete of the Year in the same year. Friday still holds the national high school record and the USA Junior Championship record in the 100m dash (10.00). In his first and only year at Florida State, Friday earned second-team All-American honors at the indoor championships. Friday holds the 10th-fastest time in school history in the 200m dash with a time of 20.86.
