A Kyiv court has closed the case of ex-Berkut riot police members Vadym Betlii and Oleg Kozachyshyn for their role in the violent dispersal of Maidan protesters on November 30, 2013 due to the expiration of the statute of limitations, as reported by the Advocacy Advisory Group on Facebook.
The investigation into the case of the organization of the dispersal and shooting of Maidan demonstrators is almost finished, the State Bureau of Investigation or SBI reported on Nov. 21.
After nearly a decade, five officers of the disgraced Berkut riot police have been found guilty of the mass murder of protesters during the Revolution of Dignity on Feb. 20, 2014, Ukrainian news outlet Hromadske reported.
