HOUSTON Charges have been filed against the man seen on camera firing into a car as it tries to flee a street takeover.
The incident happened at the intersection of Enclave Parkway and Forkland Drive in west Houston earlier this year.
Chandler Raine, assistant district attorney for the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, said 20-year-old Jose Jimenez is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Raine said the video helped authorities track down Jimenez and charge him with the second-degree felony.

HOUSTON Houston police are looking for a gunman who fired shots at a vehicle that managed to escape a “street takeover” in west Houston early Monday morning.
Video was posted to Reddit hours after the incident occurred.
“People getting out of their cars everywhere,” the driver who was shot at said. “It was just surreal just to stop and not be able to do anything just a complete street takeover.”
